I have a rather unique email challenge. I have a really great
freeware email checker/notifier that handles all my email accounts and allows direct reading and deletion from servers. Only limitation is that mail sent from it doesn't produce a "sent" file, so you see no replies with it. That functionality is in the payware version. No problem. In the year or so I've been using it, I b.c.c. myself on the messages I send directly from it. Every once in a blue moon, however, I forget that extra b.c.c. step g. I found out yesterday, no problem, either. I searched and found all the sent messages physically in the program's folder in EML format. Great. I then searched and found a freeware to convert EML to MSG format which seemed the way to go to get my replies into O2K. However, EML and MSG files both turn out to have these problems in O2K: 1. If I drag 'n drop EML into O2K, yes the message shows up, but in the form of an EML attachment. One is then required to double-click on this which then makes it open in OE. Not very nice. 2. I found way to convert to MSG and then managed to get that format into O2K but then it looks and acts like an unsent email and I have no info on when the reply went out, etc. No good. When I dump EMLs into OE, which I can do for those accounts I use OE for, they're there as sent files, intact, as if sent from OE directly. Need to do the same for the EMLs for the O2K acct. Is there a way to do this, by any chance? An addin is fine but all the addins I found were shareware. Not worth it since this doesn't happen often. Hopefully someone knows either how to do this natively in O2K or of a freeware addin somewhere ... I've searched and searched but no viable solution has come up. Thanks. ---------------------------- p.s., probably begs question, 'why use the freeware to send mail from then?' -- because it's there resident at all times in systray. When in a hurry, don't need to launch + wait for O2K, respond directly right then and there. g |
