Default Missing View of all my Tasks

I use Outlook 2003 every day. Today I noticed that I cannot view my
total list of tasks and also am unable to add a new task.

When I open the outlook program, it opens with outlook Today and shows
my tasks due today or past due as it always does.

On the left side bottom, there are icons for mail, calendar, contacts,
tasks, and notes. When I click on any icon except tasks, what is
viewed is as always and is what is expected. However, when I click on
tasks, the list of taks do not appear as they have in the past.

Would appreciate any help getting my tasks back.

Thanks

Default Missing View of all my Tasks

What exactly do you see? Did you try resetting the views on the tasks
folder?

When I click on tasks icon on bottom left, on the right side I see my
calender. This was the previous icon I clicked on from the icons on
bottom left. I think the problem is that on the top left section I
see under "TASKS" the folder "tasks in archive folder" but do not see
just "tasks" in the active folder.
By the way, when one changes the views, is the file Outlook.pst
updated or some other file name. If it it some other file name, could
I save my outlook.pst file, then uninstall OUTLOOK and then install
OUTLOOK and copy outlook.pst to its proper folder?,

it sounds like you have a Day/Week/Month view on your tasks folder. Go to
View, Arrange By, Current View (bottom of menu) and select Simple list.
If simple list is selected, choose customize current view and reset the
view.

BTW, views are stored in the PST file so the only way to fix view problems
is by resetting the views. Reinstalling won't help.
