Hi,
I have this problem here. We have Exchange 2003 and Windows XP as the environment. Office 2003 is the client that we are using. The problem: When this computer is another domain than the exchange server the Outlook constantly is asking this user to change his password. It says that your account is expired. This account is not expired and is not logged out or something like that. Even if the user changes the password, this happens again. There is forest trust between these domains both ways. Can anyone please help me on this problem. Tia, Mac |

Hi thanks for your post. Yes they ara connecting through firewall and I
think they are using Cached mode. Should they try to take the Cached mode off? FIrewall should not be blocking any traffic. All worked fine before upgrading to Outlook 2003 |

Try one without cached mode to see what happens. If you upgraded and used
the same profiles, try a new profile on one machine also and see if that fixes it - especially if you upgraded from 2000. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Author, Teach Yourself Outlook 2003 in 24 Hours Coauthor, OneNote 2003 for Windows (Visual QuickStart Guide) Need Help with Common Tasks? http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/ Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Subscribe to Exchange Messaging Outlook newsletter: "Mac" wrote in message oups.com... Thank you Diane for trying to help me with this problem. I really
appreciate your help. The install of Office 2003 was brand new. The whole computer was reinstalled and therefore the term "upgraded" was slightly misleading here. Sorry ![]() So the install is fresh. I today tried to take the Exchange Cached mode off in vain. Now this user cannot start the Outlook at all. When it starts to ask the password change and user clicks the cancel, outlook closes. User cannot change the password from this dialog. I'm frustrated with this problem, |

Hi all. I just now figured out what caused this problem. I created a
new windows profile for this user and the problem disappeared after this. So if you are having this kind of problem, try to make a new profile. Hope this is usefull for someone else who is suffering this problem ![]() |

In almost 10 years of working with Outlook (and Exchange) it is amazing how
many things are solved by profile recreation. Thanks for posting your resolution. "Mac" wrote in message ups.com... Hi all. I just now figured out what caused this problem.
