Help. We have a user with a lot of email that inadvertantly renamed a
Catagory Item and now Outlook 2007 is hung while it goes through every item making this change. Is there any way to cancel this process either in Outlook or on the Exchange 2007 server? The renaming process just starts back up following a reboot / OUtlook 2007 restart. Thanks, PFM |

I'd try a new profile with a new ost - the changes may not be synced to the
server yet. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: You can access this newsgroup by visiting http://www.microsoft.com/office/comm...s/default.mspx or point your newsreader to msnews.microsoft.com. Diane:
It has been running for hours. Is there any way to tell if this will work without doing it? Is there any way to stop the renaming process itself? I was told that we tried this and the renaming process carried over to the
new profile. Also, it's a direct connection to Exchange so no ost. I was hoping for a way to kill the process itself. Thanks, PFM "Diane Poremsky [MVP]" wrote in message ... I'm not aware of anyway to kill the process - I'm not even sure a reboot of
Exchange would stop it. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: You can access this newsgroup by visiting http://www.microsoft.com/office/comm...s/default.mspx or point your newsreader to msnews.microsoft.com.
