Default Can't get office update to install

Office 2003 and windows xp sp2

I have tried several times to install this office update: Security Update
for Outlook 2003 (KB892843) (English version)

Each time I get that the installation has failed. I've tried the full file
and from windows update. Any suggestions?

Do you get any particular error when it fails? If so, please include that in
its entirety. The following MS articles may help you to solve:

Office updates may not be applied successfully if See Microsoft KB

The path to the local installation source is invalid.

Default Can't get office update to install

Here's what helped me. I had that same problem with the KB892843 update. It
would just sit in my tray and never install. I finally figured out that my
Windows Installer was corrupted, after iTunes and Adobe Reader updates also
would not install. The following article was very helpful.

http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;315353

Basically, this is what I did. Downloaded a new copy of the Windows
Installer 3.1, installed it. Unregistered it and reregistered it. Then
rebooted. The security update finally installed and I was able to install the
other two applications.
