I use Outlook 2007. When viewing multiple received jpg attachements only
the file names are shown and each has to be opened individually even if the Outlook viewer is used and "all files" are selected. In the past I used to see jpg images within the email body and each could be seen by scrolling. Has this facility been disabled? regards, "nobody" |

Outlook never allowed that except in HTML (or RIch Text) messages where the sender embedded the images. Outlook Express, however, behaves as you decribe. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

Outlook has never supported inline viewing for attachments. (Images embedded
in HTML will display in the body.) You either need to open them one at a time or preview them one at a time. See http://www.slipstick.com/mail1/inline.asp for utilities that will allow you to preview the images at once. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: You can access this newsgroup by visiting http://www.microsoft.com/office/comm...s/default.mspx or point your newsreader to msnews.microsoft.com. In the past I used to see jpg images within the email body and each could be seen by scrolling. Has this facility been disabled? In the past, you were using Outlook EXPRESS, not Outlook. Outlook EXPRESS v4 has a preview area at the end of the e-mail body that gave you a slide show to look at all images that were included in the e-mail; however, the slide-show feature was dropped from OE5 (but could be re-added; http://www.insideoutlookexpress.com/....htm#slideshow) and became completely unavailable in OE6. IE6 (with OE6) was released back around October 2001. For you to have been using the slide show feature meant you were using OE4 (or OE5 with a registry hack), so that's some long-ago "past" to which you refer or you never installed IE6 or later. Outlook never had the slide show feature. You cannot disable what's not there to enable. |
