Default stop responding spell checking email

Office Outlook 2003. WinXP SP2.

Email window stops responding during spell check and causes program to
close.

First...is the information that was there in retained in a TEMP file
anywhere after the program closes? If so, where?
Second, what might be cause the program to fail during spell check?

I'm using WORD as my email editor.

Information that was in where? If this was a draft, check your drafts
folder. If it ain't there, it ain't there.

Does this happen when you a) *don't* use Word as e-mail editor? or b) when
you do spellcheck within Word?

What SP on Office? You should be on Office 2003 SP2.....

PS: I love your handle in here. Film buff, eh?

Thanks for the reponse.

Information in the body of the email that was being composed. I should get
in the habit of writting long, extended email text as a Word Document in
Word, rather than in Outlook, I suppose.
It wasn't saved as a draft for some reason when the program crashed.

This does NOT happen with I don't use Word as email editor and it does NOT
happen when I spell check within Word itself.

I am.

And have had to use that credit myself once.

Yep - although note that you can use file | save on an unsent message during
composition, as many times as you like.
If Outlook crashes, though, it may lose that info - lengthy missives might
better be composed in Word directly.

OK - hmmm. I don't use Word as email editor (I hate it!) but am wondering if
it's a template issue - someone else may be able to chime in with more info.
My usual (and useless) advice is usually to de-select the option to use Word
as email editor....which doesn't help those who prefer it. Sorry.

Heh. I like looking up Alan Smithee on imdb sometimes when I'm bored. I
don't get out much.
