1. Its the mcafee email scanning feature.
2. tools, trust center, addins - is it listed in the disabled addins
section? if so, you shouldn't get the error message unless mcafee is
enabling it at reboot. Then you'll need to disable it in mcafee's options.

Hello, I was advised by my IT dept to remove McAfee from my computer. Ever
since I have experienced the same problem. THey cannot figure out how to fix
it since I removed the program. THey even checked the steps listed below.
Any insight? Thank you - Norma

Any insight?

Try deleting the (usually hidden) file
%UserProfile%\Local Settings\Application\Microsoft\Outlook\extend.dat (on XP)
or
%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Outlook\extend.dat (on Vista or 7).

THank you - I tried it, but the error does not go away. I will just deal
with this pop up; it's better than having a computer that does not work.

Regards.
