Last Thursday evening (Feb 1), during the threat of the latest worm, I wanted
to ensure my Windows security was up to date (although I have it on automatic update). I went to the Microsoft Web page and must have inadvertently downloaded the Office 2003 update, rather than any security patches. Now my email has been reconfigured with the first line saying "please enter your registration number." As I own my own copy of Office Professional 2000, I enter the registration number and get a "registration number not valid." Then it goes in a circle. What gives? I'm getting sort of desperate to have my email accessible on a regular basis. I can go back to a System Restore to get my original Outlook, but that seems to last for only 3 days until I cross the line where the service pack was downloaded. Questions: (1) how can I get rid of the 2003 service pack installation? (2) why won't my registration number take? It took the first time when I registered the applications, (3) If I have to pay money for the Service Pack to get a new registration number, how do I do that? Thanks for any advice. John |

Does it (Office 2003 SP2) show in the Add/Remove Programs Control Panel
applet? Make sure you check the box that says "Show updates" "JohnCleveland" wrote in message ...
