I have removed my old email account and added a new one ( fyi I have put old
email onto a new computer). 1st problem is I still receive emails addressed to my old email, even though the account details are no longer in outlook email account. 2nd problem is that when I send an email (the new email) it is recieved as if from the old email address (although in the sent list it shows it as coming from the new email address). Can anyone help me please? -- THX |

What version of Outlook are you using? Is it a POP3 account? Do you receive
mail sent to the new address too? -- -Ben- Ben M. It's version 2003. No, I'm not getting emails at the new address (the only
one actually listed on the email account), but it's sending them as if from the old email (that has been removed from the account list). The new email is from the same provider - just a different name. -- THX "Ben M. Schorr, MVP" wrote: What version of Outlook are you using? Is it a POP3 account? Forgot to say. Yes, it's a POP3 account.

It's the same provider - and uses the same last name as the original email,
but it has a different begining as it's for a different family member. -- THX "Brian Tillman [MVP - Outlook]" wrote: "THX" wrote in message ... This may, then, be an alias because that's how many providers supply addresses for family members. The two addresses feed the exact same mailbox. They aren't really separate addresses at all. The recipients of your messages should see whatever address is in the "E-mail Address" field of the sending account. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

I've checked on my original email address with the provider and the new
address is not linked or part of my account. It is independantly set up with the provider. The recipients see my original email address. What I'm not understanding is that this address is no more in my Outlook email account. Is a solution to uninstall Outlook then re-install? -- THX "Brian Tillman [MVP - Outlook]" wrote: "THX" wrote in message ... Uninstalling and reinstalling won't help. As I said, your recipients will see whatever address you specified in the "E-mail Address" field of the account. If you're replying to older messages that you received via the old account, then Outlook will try to reply using that account. If the account doesn't exist, the replies will remain in the Outbox and shouldn't get sent unless you specifically choose the new account, but then the recipients will see the address you've defined in the new account. Open your Sent Items folder and add the "E-mail Account" field to the column headers to see what account Outlook used to send the message. Perhaps that will help track down the issue. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |
