When I open Outlook 2002, I often get a message that says:
"The data file 'Archive Folders' was not closed properly. The file is being checked for problems." This "checking" goes on for several minutes before Outlook opens fully. This happens even though I have closed Outlook properly before and left plenty of time before turning off my computer. This is a big annoyance and one reason I am looking for ways to not use Outlook for e-mail any longer. I'm hoping that Google comes up with a calendar program soon so I can shed Outlook. Can someone suggest a way to fix this and to improve Outlook's speed when I open it up? Thanks. |

This means that something didn't allow Outlook to close correctly the last time you closed it. See if anything here helps: http://www.slipstick.com/problems/close.htm -- Brian Tillman |
