The buttons are not customizable - they go to the default mailbox only.
Move to folder is usually a better option, except Ol2003 doesn't have an

How did you create tasks in Outlook 2000 that you got attachments and
text? I booted a virtual machine this morning and get the same behavior as
in newer versions - text or attachment, not both. (Which was what I
remembered, but figured I'd better refresh my memory.)

Don't know. It's always been that way for me shrug. This is the first
time I didn't get that, so it stood out. I haven't used Outlook 2003 very
much, I've been in contracts that although they had WinXP, they all had the
old Outlook.

Currently, there's a common mailbox and the way they're asking us to handle
our respective tasks is to drag them into the tasks folder.

But your system works great. Though I have to do the navigation carefully
so that I get into the right tasks folder, and then I have to repeat the
motion a second time to get the attachment in, the end goal is reached - a
message with its attachment. So that's the main thing. I just have to get
used to this. D

Yeah, well, when there are more than one available tasks "folder",
that doesn't work properly. Unless there's some way to set a default,
don't see how.

The options in the bottom for the "shortcuts", or whatever they're
called, don't allow one to customize _which_ tasks the button is
connected to. (?)

I imagine that other people will have more than 2 mailboxes to deal
with, they won't be able to rely on those buttons either, I'm
guessing.

Again, unless there's something that can be done that isn't obvious?

on the button. Since I want the attachments in the message included, I
either need to add the message or the attachments to the task. The insert
item button works well if the message you want to insert is at the top of
the list, otherwise, drag and drop it. Or select all or one of the
attachments in the reading pane drag to the task form. (It's easier when
your screen is bigger as you can open the windows side by side, but I
wanted
to keep the window small for the video. )

Perhaps there's another way of doing this where #2 actually does work
(?)

We really need to get the O2K functionality back completely. They've
given our department the responsibility of tracking all messages coming
in
to the general mailbox. We need both items since the documents they're
sending need to stay with the task yet we don't have time to be opening
each one to get the rest of the information.

If you need the message readable and the attachment, drag it so it
opens
the form with the text in the body,. Drag the message to the open form
to
add it as an attachment. Or just drag the attachment to the open form.
You can drag attachments right from the reading pane to the form.

content of the email. (Why does M$ do these types of things?? There

no gain in this loss of functionality. Unless I'm missing something
