Default Sending mail on 2 networks

I use my laptop at home and at work and use Outlook to send and receive
mail via wireless networks. My ISP is comcast.net, but at work I can't
(as I understand it) send my e-mail via comcast so I have to change the
smtp option to my company's domain. This works OK, except when I move
from one environment to the other and forget to change the smtp setting
and wonder why my e-mail isn't leaving my inbox! Is there a better way
to set up e-mail so I don't have to change my settings a home and at
work?

Use separate mail profiles for work and home and setup your mail accounts
accordingly.

I set up Home and Work profiles to replace my single Outlook profile.
But how do I choose my original pst file as the destination for e-mail?
I opened outlook.pst in my Home profile, but outlook3.pst is the
default destination. Also, when I did a Send/Receive in my Home
profile, I received mail that I hadn't gotten earlier in the day when I
was in the Outlook profile, though I should have received it then. I
don't know if this has to do with the profile set-ups or not. Bottom
line, though, is I'd like mail to go to the same place no matter which
profile I open.

Open the PST you want for your delivery location with FileOpenOutlook Data
File. Then visit ToolsE-mail AccountsNext and change the Delivery new
e-mail to the following location" drop-down at the bottom left and change it
to indicate the PST you just opened. Stop and restart Outlook. All done.

As long as each profile has the same PST as its delivery location, you're
all set.

Thanks. I was able to set the delivery location for my Home profile to
be the same as my default profile (Outlook). But when I write an e-mail
from Home and click on To:, no contacts appear. How do I get the
various contacts folders to be visible in this profile so I can address
my e-mails?

Remove and re-add the Outlook Address Book Service. Restart outlook each
time.

I appreciate that you reply, but your answers are quite cryptic. I
finally figured out how to add the PAB file, which I guess is what you
meant by "Outlook Address Book Service," but that didn't help in
allowing me to address an e-mail to one of my contacts (even though I
could see all my contacts). After a lot of fiddling around and furious
head scratching I figured out to check the box "Show this folder as an
Outlook Address Book" under Properties/Outlook Address Book.

Not at all. The Outlook Address Book service is named exactly that:
"Outlook Address Book". it is totally unrelated to the Personal Address
Book service. They're not even named the same. Better try again.
