Hello.
I have an unusual problem with Outlook 2003. I have a user that is creating a distribution list from the global directory. The user can create the list, but when she attempts to send a message to the list, Outlook returns the message: Microsoft Office Outlook does not recognize 'Distribution List' And it has no suggestions for an address. The list is in the Contacts folder. I use the same version of Outlook on my computer and I can create the list and it works fine. I created and tested the distribution list on my computer, then sent it to the other user. She dragged it over to her Contacts folder and it still doesn't work. Outlook status is Online for both computers. Could this be a user permissions issue or something else? Thanks in advance for any help. Laura Anderson |

Sounds like the user does not have an outlook address book added to their system so that contacts appears below the GAB in the adress list - Rightclick outlook -- Properties -- Add new directory or addressbook --- Additional Address books --- Outlook address book. Close outlook then re open. Right click conacts and select show this as a folder in the global address list. ![]() |
