I installed only Outlook. I selected remove old copy. It did not remove the
old copy. I then uninstalled the old copy. It would not open as described below. I ran the diagnostics, which said it fixed some files. It still did not run. I had no firewall, antispyware programs, or antivirus progams when I installed. The problems below happened anyway. I use a hosted Outlook Web Exchange. There is an outlook.ost file that Outlook 2007 Beta cannot read. I delete it and it still cannot read it. It just terminates before I have a chance to enter my user ID and password. It tells me I have to log into Exchange at least once before connecting to Outlook. Since it is hosted, I cannot log into exchange prior to running outlook. I uninstalled Outlook 2007 Beta and restored my system to the way it was before the installation. The menu items pointing to Outlook 2007 Beta were not removed. I installed all of Office 2007 Pro. It would not activate as has been noted before in the forum. It also did not remove the old versions as the Custom install says it will. I uninstalled everfything but not everything was removed. I had to manually remove. I am back to square one. Any suggestions??? I have a high end AMD nVidia NFORCE4 system with 2GB memory and fast hard disks in two RAID arrays. I am Vista Ultra compatible. Any suggestions?? LOLOL Albert |

No, I had set it up for Outlook 2003 and then selected the "Upgrade" path for
the Beta. Since you seem to be quite expert in this process, here are some additional information that will confuse or clarify the situation. Three days ago, I first installed Office 2007 Beta and I did NOT have this problem with Outlook! I did not resolve the conflict of having two versions of Office as I did this time in my attempt to make Outlook Beta work after it failed. However, I could not activate that day or the day after, so I uninstalled everything and used a backup to completely restore my hard disks to where it was prior to the initial install of the Beta. Then, I felt that I should begin working with at least Outlook and that is when this problem revealed itself. Any new light?? May I call you or correspond with you more directly? Thank you for paying so much attention to this problem. since you have a backup that will restore you to pre-beta state, do it and
uninstall office 2003 completely-reboot then install the beta. There are numerous problems with upgrading (it's still in beta after all) and this will insure the best experience. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Author, Teach Yourself Outlook 2003 in 24 Hours Coauthor, OneNote 2003 for Windows (Visual QuickStart Guide) Need Help with Common Tasks? http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/ Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Subscribe to Exchange Messaging Outlook newsletter: "AlKolkin" wrote in message ...
