Default calendar on my desktop and i lost it after a download

After up dating outlook a calendar appeared in the upper left hand corner of
my desktop. After downloading a picture as a desktop background it
disappeared.. the calendar was great. It was a 30 day calendar which
indicated the day of the month and changed monthly... I would sure like to
have it back and tried a restore but it didnt work..
