Hello Everyone
I freshly reinstalled Windows 2000 with all updates using Ghost Image which also contains Office 2003. Logged on as Domain Admin, I could open to setup Outlook. I logged on as a user and tried to open Outlook to setup the user mail account. An error message appear saying that I need to restart Outlook or reinstall it. In the Event Viewer "Application", there are many same warnings: ID: 1004 Source: Msinstaller Description: Detection of product '{GUID}' feature 'OutlookUserData', component {GUID} failed. The resource 'HKEY_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\ Outlook\UserData' does not exist. There is also a similar Warnings as above. The difference is that it says: 'HKEY_Current_User\Software\ODBC\ODBC.INI\Ms Access Database\' does not exist. Any suggestions please ? Thanks Best |

Hello Best,
From the post log, I understand that you are using ghost image to deploy Windows and Office. Please kindly understand that we do not support cloned or ghosted systems that were not deployed following the support Microsoft process. We appreciate your understanding and hope you get recommendations from others in the public newsgroup, or contact the cloning software manufacturer for assistance. Having said that, I would like to provide some general information for your reference: From the error message, it seems that HKEY_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\O utlook\UserData and HKEY_Current_User\Software\ODBC\ODBC.INI\Ms Access Database\ are missing from the registry. It should be related to the failure installation of Office. To resolve this issue, you may need to remove and reinstall Office using a user account with Admin rights. Hope this helps.
