Default fixmapi32.exe does not fix problem of corrupt mapi32.dll

I tried installing office 2007 and it failed installation. now I cannot
access outlook. I get corrupt mapi32.dll

See if renaming msmapi32.dll to msmapi32.old and repairing adn then
restarting Outlook helps.

I had the same problem and found this fix in another outlook newsgroup on
this site. Rename MSMAPI32.dll to MSMAPI32.xxx. I did this and outlook
reconfigured itself and recovered my emails and addresses. It worked for me.

Thank you from Australia - I now have outlook back.

I too installed Office 2007 and I'm sorry that I did. Even after deleting it
and reinstalling Office 2003 I could not open Outlook.
