I have a problem with my outlook "flickering". It is almost like blinking in
that you see the screen for a second and then it goes black and then back and forth. This mainly happens only when viewing my email, meaning I can use my calendar, etc without this problem. It is not specific to one file box or another in the email setting. It happens in all the different boxes. I can double click on the email and open it and that circumvents the flickering, however as soon as I return to the preview pane, the flickering starts in again. Initially I had thought it was my monitor going out, but once I realized the incident was only related to outlook, that eliminated that. I have tried the "fix" feature from microsoft (can't remember if it is in the help section or on the website or on the disk) with no success. I have uninstalled office and reinstalled it with no success. I have run numerous virus scans, etc with no luck either. I really am at a loss as to why this happens. I am current on all of my XP and Office Pro downloads including all the service packs. Please, someone help me!! I have gotten to the point that I almost prefer to go to my email provider's website to check my email than use outlook. Thanks in advance for ANY suggestions or ideas you may have to offer. |

I stand corrected, slightly. It now happens throughout all of Outlook
although it started with just my email. This has almost acted as a worm or virus as it started very spuratically and has increased in frequency over time. I've been dealing with some form of this problem for at least the last 6 months and possibly up to the last year. |

![]() Hi, Could we try this step- 1.Get into C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\Outlook.exe . 2.Right click on Outlook.exe. 3.Click on Properties - Click on Compatibility . 4.Uncheck Run in 256 colours under display settings . 5.Click on Apply and Ok. Restart the machine and try again. Thanks, Mittu "jlbsmom" wrote: I stand corrected, slightly. It now happens throughout all of Outlook although it started with just my email. Thank you very kindly for your suggestion. I did as you said up to uncheck
the run in 256 colors because it was not checked. Should I check it then restart then uncheck it and restart or will that do anything? Thanks for the help. Hi,
So under the 'Compatibility' tab, we have all the items unchecked? It is important that all the fields are de-selected under the Compatibility tab. Also, make sure that your screen resolution is 1024*768 or 800*600 (Control PanelDisplay Settings). Thanks, Mittu "jlbsmom" wrote: Thank you very kindly for your suggestion. Correct. All items under the compatability tab are unchecked. Also, my
screen resolution is at 1024 x 768. Rather puzzling isn't it?!?! "Mittu" wrote: Hi, So under the 'Compatibility' tab, we have all the items unchecked?
