Default Can't reply to email in Outlook 2003

I am having exactly the same problem - is driving me mad! I am using MSN mail
through Outlook. I have contacted MSN Hotmail and they say the problem is
with my Outlook! Any suggestions?

the error message appears to say you are trying to edit a message stored on
a server - what type of email account do you use? IMAP and POP3 are the most
common, with some people accessing Hotmail and MSN accounts in outlook.

Why would I suddenly start receiving this message:
MESSAGES ON THIS SERVER CANNOT BE MODIFIED
Whenever I attempt to reply to an email message in Outlook?
I can successfully send a new message, only cannot hit the REPLY BUTTON
without receiving the above message.

I too am having this problem with Hotmail e-mail in outlook.
Regular comcast mail works ok.
I had just reformatted my HD, resintsalled Windows, resintalled Outlook,
brought back over my .pst files from my network drive. Then this problem
appeared, but only for Hotmail. Comcast e-mail works fine.
I have tried deleting my Hotmail e-mail account within Outlook, and
re-creating it. To no avail.
- Frustrated.
