For those of you who may have similar error message when creating outlook rule to have "server reply with a specific message"
this seems to be a bug related to Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2000 where I was able to get around this problem for Outlook 2003 users Simply running outlook 2003 in safe mode, will allow you to create the rule without error. For Outlook 2000 clients, still trying to solve the issue. MC "MC" wrote in message ... I don't understand and don't know where to look at this issue. Very interesting! If you still have some Outlook 2003 users in that state, could you try some of the more granulat /safe:# switches to try to pinpoint where the problem might lie:
/safe:3 Starts Outlook with extensions turned off, but listed in the Add-In Manager. /safe:4 Starts Outlook without loading Outcmd.dat (customized toolbars) and *.fav file. -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 http://www.turtleflock.com/olconfig/index.htm and Microsoft Outlook Programming - Jumpstart for Administrators, Power Users, and Developers http://www.outlookcode.com/jumpstart.aspx "MC" wrote in message ... Both safe switch options you mentioned works fine, no error.
If I start outlook without /safe switch I get error. This switch doesn't seem to help outlook 2000 clients. (However, so far I found 1 client with outlook 2000, works fine even without switch) There is a rights issue somewhere that are not in sync between client or Exchange server. Or it could be exchange server alone be acting up. MC "Sue Mosher [MVP-Outlook]" wrote in message ... Very interesting! Nope,
de-selecting addins that are checked did not help MC "Sue Mosher [MVP-Outlook]" wrote in message ...
