Can somebody please help me! I am trying to set up microsoft outlook for my
father using his yahoo email address. I have entered the correct
POP3(pop.mail.yahoo.com) and SMTP (smtp.mail.yahoo.com) and all other
relevant details i.e user name, password etc. All details are correct but
when i test the settings it says:
1. Outlook could not connect to the outgoing SMTP mail server because the
server did not accept your user name and password.
2.Outlook could not connect to the incoming POP3 mail server because the
server did not accept your user name and password.
When i am prompted to enter user name and password and enter the details
correctly, the prompt box just stays on the screen as if it hasnt recognised
that i clicked on the OK button. The details are correct but i obvioulsy have
some settings set incorrectly. I connect to the internet by broadband so what
should i say i use to connect to the internet?
I am really confused so if someone could help me asap i would be very
grateful

Are you using a paid Yahoo account (i.e., Yahoo! Plus)? If not, Yahoo does
not allow access to its POP and SMTP servers.
