Hi.
My problem is as follows: My hard drive crashed. I installed a new one I re installed Microsoft Outlook on the new drive, and made my old drive a slave. I am able to acess my outlook .pst folder with all my contacts on it. When I copy and paste the .pst folder to my new Microsoft Outlook install, no contacts show up when I try to use it normally. What am I doing wrong? |

Try the following.
1) Start Outlook 2) Select File Open Outlook Data file (Outlook 2002/2003) or Select File Open Personal Folders (Outlook 97/2000) 3) Use the open file dialog to open the old PST 4) In the folder list you should see your old PST, at this point you can copy the contents of the contacts folder from the old folder to the new one. 5) If you elected to copy data from old to new and you have finished plucking out what you want to keep, you can close the old PST by right clicking on Personal Folders and select Close/Disconnect. Make sure that you have full control of the file and that it isn't marked
read only. " m wrote in message ... I again tried to open the file and the message comes up as follows: " The process cannot acess the file because another process has locked a portion of the file" . What other process are they referring too? Pleas advise. |

It means that another running program has locked the file. It could be as
simple as antivirus to something as complex as a backup program. " m wrote in message ...
