I'm going insane trying to find any concreate examples of how to
automate this. I am trying to setup outlook so the first time the user logs in and loads Outlook it will automatically connect to their profile and connect to the exchange server. The user should not have to setup anything. I've spent quite a bit of time searching around to no avail with anything helpful. Most of the links provided to free software that supposedly do this do not work anymore. Other links take me to Outlook 2002 ot XP which isn't helpful to me. I've tried using the Custom Installation Wizard for Office 2000 and that doesn't work, it still prompts to connect to an exchange server, etc. Any help is greatly appreciated. |

For Outlook 2000, you must use the Newprof.exe tool with a properly constructed .prf file. The tools are part of the Office Resource Kit downloads from
http://www.microsoft.com/office/orka...l.htm#orktools. THe how-to is at http://www.microsoft.com/Office/ork/2000/two/35t3_2.htm -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 http://www.turtleflock.com/olconfig/index.htm and Microsoft Outlook Programming - Jumpstart for Administrators, Power Users, and Developers http://www.outlookcode.com/jumpstart.aspx "David" wrote in message oups.com... Thanks, I did already have this but got a bit lucky and found another
thread that resolved this problem for me. I would create the custom install for Office but it would never properly setup Outlook. The registry fix in this post http://groups.google.com/group/micro...8bdb47be4e8328 Resolved my problem. I simply changed it from version 11.0 to 9.0 since I'm dealing with Office 2000 and it worked like a charm. |
