Hello,
I just bought a new computer and wanted to transfer my outlook emails from the new computer to the old computer but kept getting eror mesage indicating that I needed contact my administator. Since i have no administrator I contact the small computer shop that I purchase my computer only find that they are no longer in business. So I went to plan B and transfered my outlook files by copying them from the "outlook" folder located in "MS OFFICE" folder that is within the "programs" folder "local settings" folder within my my user folder, which is within "documents and Settings" folder in my C (primary) drive. (See below) C Dive ----Documents & Settings (folder) ------JT (folder) -----Local Settings (folder) ------- Programs (folder) -----MSOffice (folder) ------outlook (folder) ------ Outlook Office Data File My problem is that on my new computer I cannot find where the outlook files are stored. When I go into my "C" drive and look in the "Documents & Settings" folder I am able to find my "JT" user folder but there is no "local settings" folder in here. In an effort to try to identify where the outlook files are stored I send myself an email and then did a search (from the start bar). In the search I searched everything in the "C" drive, including hidden and subfolders. THe eamil subject box that I sent to myself even had a strange name to more easily ID. Please help me identify where the Outlook Office Data File is kept. Thank you. JT |
