Default Outlook 2003 will not send, but receive just fine

Hello,

I am going absolutely crazy as my Outlook 2003 will receive mail just fine,
but will not send mail right away. It may take anywhere from 5 minutes to 5
hours to send a single piece of mail. I have checked with ISP, and they are
not blocking port 25 etc.

I have formatted the hard drive, reimaged the computer 6 times, loaded just
Win XP home and Office 2003 (no firewall, AV etc, except the Windows built
in) and am having the same results. I do not know where to turn to for help.

I am willing to try anything, desperately looking for help.

Looking for a miracle helper....

TIA

Velani

Default Outlook 2003 will not send, but receive just fine

Hi Oliver,

Thanks for the link, but it did not make any difference. I just cannot
imagine what else can be making the email sluggish in leaving the outbox?
What is absolutely puzzling is the fact that a reimage of the PC and a fresh
install on Office 2003 also does not work. In this equation, there are no
other components installed, application wise.

Still looking for a solution. Willing to pay to get it to work.

Hi Velani,

......that a reimage of the PC and a fresh install on Office 2003 also does
not work

If your Outlook profile is corrupt, a reinstallation of Outlook doesn´t
repair your Outlook profile.

Often users try to "repair" Outlook with the repair function of the CD, but
with this "repair" function you can not repair in Outlook profile. An
Outlook profile is complete independant.

I only know this error can "send but not receive emails" if your provider
needs an authentication of the email account.

Maybe some additional function to check your Outlook installation:

You could try to repair your PST file with scan pst:
http://www.emailaddressmanager.com/outlook/repair.html

You could try to create a new Outlook profile with a new PST file.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829918/

After you created a new profile with the new (empty) PST file, you could
copy the items from the old PST file into the new PST, but at first I would
try to send emails with a new profile and a new PST file if the repair of
the old PST doesn´t solve your problem.

(my english is not perfekt, because I am living in Germany, so excuse my
errors, please)

I hope it helps.
