Default connection setting changes automatically

I recently switched from Dial up to DSL. I changed the connection in my mail
accounts to connect to a LAN. When I close Outlook and later open it, the
connection settings have been changed back to Dial-up. Can someone help
explain what is going on? Thank you in advance for your time.
