Hi There,
My computer got fried in a storm 3 weeks ago. We have gotten a new computer and my computer guy was able to restore the .pst files from outlook 2003. I am trying to install the .pst files in outlook 2002 but with no luck. When I get to importing, I get the following message: "the source and destination folders for this operation cannot be the same". I've tried everything. Any suggestions |

If the .pst file from Outlook 2003 was a unicode .pst you will not be able
to read it in Outlook 2002. "brettandcora" wrote in message ... Hi There, My computer got fried in a storm 3 weeks ago. As William states, you can't open an Outlook 2003 Unicode .PST with Outlook
2002. What you need to do is open this (or these) .PST file(s) with Outlook 2003, Use Outlook 2003 to create an (or several) Outlook 2002 compatible ANSI .PST file(s), COPY (DO NOT use Import or Export) the data from the 2003 Unicode .PST(s) to the 2002 ANSI .PST(s), then open the 2002 .PST File(s) with Outlook 2002. The reason you don't want to use Export/Import is because doing so tends to corrupt Outlook profiles. http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/as...771141033.aspx Reconnect your old Outlook data file Hal -- Hal Hostetler, CPBE -- Senior Engineer/MIS -- MS MVP-Print/Imaging -- WA7BGX http://www.kvoa.com -- "When News breaks, we fix it!"
