Default why will same messages keep downloading after deleted on other PC

My husband and I set up our computers so that we can both view all emails on
our own PCs. When he hits Send and recieve he recieves ALL of the emails
again and again even after deleting them. Mine does not do this. We have
checked all of our settings and they are all the same. Why does his PC
continue to do this? Is there something we may be missing?
