I have Microsoft Office 2000 premium loaded on my laptop, and have just
decided to start using Outlook (switching from Palm to Blackberry).

However, when I try to launch Outlook, it says it can't find the "forms" and
begins looking for file named "data1.msi". I don't have the CD-ROMs anymore,
as Office was loaded onto my computer when I got it. A product ID pops up in
the initial Outlook box, but it flashes so quickly that I can't write it
down.

You'll need your CDs if you every want to resolve that installation popup.

is there any way to download what's needed from microsoft? can't I just enter
a product key or something?

You can try. Open any Office application and copy the product key you see
in HelpAbout.
