downloaded the only option for outlook 2007 on the download page, which was
outlook with business contact manager. there was no option to download just
outlook 2007 beta. after 22 minutes download, and a $1.50 charge to download,
i run the exe file and get the error message "you must install outlook 2007
beta before installing outlook 2007 with business contact manager beta."

I really just want to try out outlook 2007 beta, don't need the business
contact manager. Any help? A valid link to download just the beta version of
outlook 2007? I've looked all over the download sections of microsoft.com and
once you go into the get the beta section (and get through the menu's:
country, language, etc.) the only option is the outlook 2007 with business
contact manager.

The application you need to download is Office 2007. The "Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager" is misnamed, because it does not include Outlook, only the BCM add-in for Outlook.

I appreciate your quick response, but as I mentioned in previous post, I
can't find the application outlook 2007. When I go through all the steps to
download the beta version of all the office stuff, there IS NO option to
download JUST outlook, the only option is outlook with the business manager.
I'm trying to find out where I CAN download just outlook. Any further help
would be much appreciated.

Repeating: The application you need to download and install is Office 2007.

It includes Outlook among other applications. You can customize the installation to load only the apps you want.

my bad. i did NOT read your post correctly. my eyes substituted "outlook" for
"office" . . . I thought there was a way to download just outlook. I will
