I would like to set Outlook 2003 to check for new messages every 30 seconds.
I can already go into the setting and set the minimum time to 1 minute but want to have the program automatically check messages every 30 seconds. How can I do this? |

The send/receive interval should be nothing less than 10 minutes. The myth of having Outlook check for mail every minute or less is that it will step on itself since the act of polling the server, completing the handshake, etc. will take more than 30 seconds. Eventually it will damage your send/receive settings and can corrupt your mail profile.
Besides, can you actually read all email received every 30 seconds? -- Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. I understand the risk but would still like to make it to check for mail every
30 seconds. Any help to this end would be great! |

Simple answer is, you can't. Outlook needs at LEAST 60 seconds to complete
a send/receive using POP3 or IMAP. Exchange is different. Oh, and when you corrupt your mail profile or your .srs settings are irretrievably damaged, please refer back to this email. -- Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact.
