Default Send Mail in Outlook 2003 Triggers OE

When I open a message sent to me in Outlook 2003, right-click the name in the
From: field and click Send Mail from the list of options, it triggers OE as
the client to send the mail.

Is this the default behaviour? I would have expected outlook just to open
another new message window with the To: field already populated.

I need to change this behaviour before we can roll out Outlook 2003.

Can anyone help?

Check the programs tab in "Internet Options" and verify that Microsoft
Outlook is set as the default mail client. (The install of Office/Outlook
2003 should have set it this way, but perhaps your site has a policy or
something else that sets it to OE.)

Thanks for taking the time to reply, neo.

Yes that is one of the first things we checked. It is definately set to MS
Outlook.
Whilst this is not a huge issue (in that it is reasonably hidden) I just
know someone is going to come across it and call the help desk.

I would rather have it sorted before we roll it out.

So what 3rd party stuff do you have installed? Reason I ask is that if I
r-click on the "From" address in the reading pane, I don't have an option of
"Send Mail from". Multiple accounts perhaps?!?

Just so you know, the only options I have are "Properties", "Send Options",
"Add to contacts", "Look up contact", plus the basic copy/paste/.etc stuff.

With the msg open, if you rt click on the 'from addy' I have a 'send mail'
option.
There are no addins, other than MSOLbackup.

Hmm... still no option like this for me in Outlook 2003. If you select
Tools Options Mail format. What is the mail format and are the first
two boxes checked/unchecked concerning Microsoft Word?
