Default no option to re-install Outlook

I hope someone can help me... I uninstalled Outlook after continuous error
messages and syncing errors with my pocket pc phone -- I was getting my
husband's email and vice versa. Now that I am trying to reinstall it, there
is a big red X next to Outlook. I've tried using Office Premium 2000 and
Business 2000 as well as the installation disk that came with my Tmobile
phone (it had Office 2002 on it).

Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc all work fine. Anyone know what's going on??

TIA,
April

No idea, since you havent said what happens when you try to instal.
I would imagine also that your TMobile might only sync with Outlook2002
installed.

That's just it -- I can't install. I get the big red X. If I try to install
anyway, it just installs some components associated with Outlook. The actual
program doesn't install. I've tried with three different installation disks
and they all have the red X (not available) by Outlook.

If youy search your hard drive, do you see a outlook.exe file that already exists? What happens if you double click on it?

Default no option to re-install Outlook

The Outlook/Office disk is in the cd slot, it begins to load the program. It
"prepares to install", then a window pops up that lets me select which
programs I want to install. All are available to choose except Outlook,
which has the red X next to it. If I right click on the X, it says "not
available".

I know the program is on that disk (and several others that I have tried)
because I have loaded the program from it before. For some reason, it is not
recognizing Outlook. Maybe a file is corrupted??

And you don't have the choice to select "Run from My Computer"? Did you
have the choice to select "Add or Remove Features"? in the screen or two
before that point?

Default no option to re-install Outlook

I tried running the program from the disk, but I got a message that said
"This application must be installed to run. Run Setup ... " Is that what
you meant Brian when you asked if I had the option to run from my computer?

To clarify where I see the red X, it is after I have the option of choosing
to Repair Office, Add or Remove Features, or Remove Office. I have tried to
the repair office option, but it does not install Outlook. It is when I
choose Add or Remove Features that I see the X next to outlook. Word, Excel,
Powerpoint, etc. are all available to install, with a little computer (?)
icon next to each program. Only next to Outlook do I see the X.

Ahhh, I found the Run from Computer option and that did the trick. Thanks so
