![]() I have a user that cannot start Outlook. Every time he starts it he gets "MIcrosoft Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to shut down. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Then it says to save your work and you have the option to send a report or not to send a report. I don't know why this is happening. I repaired the office installation, this didn't work. I uninstalled and reinstalled it and guess what, no help. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it? This is Office 2000 and I DID do all this under the admin account. -- wooonelly |

Does the error message have a "Details" button? When you get an "Illegal
Operation" or "encountered a problem" message, there's usually a "Details" button or a "click here" link to see the error report. When you click the button/link, it will show a message like: XXXX caused an error in YYYY and a bunch of register nonsense or it will list the Appname XXXX and Modname YYYY. The XXXX and YYYY are important to identify the cause and solution. You can ignore the rest of the message.
