Default Why isn't Outlook 2007 not in Pro or Business suite downloads

I have tried downloading both the business and pro plus versions of Office
2007 and neither of them had the Outlook 2007 in the downloaded suite. The
downloads show Outlook 2007 as unavailable.

There doesn't appear to be any way to download just Outlook 2007 since it
simply takes me to the choice of suites to download.

What do I need to do to get Outlook 2007 also?

It is, but you have to remove Outlook 2003 before you can install Outlook 2007.

I don't see anywhere on the Microsoft site where it indicates that you have
to first remove any of the Microsoft Office components before installing
2007. Why do I have to remove the current version of Outlook (which, BTW is
2002) and not any of the other components?

If I first remove Outlook 2002 what will happen to all my email folders,
contact list and address list?

Thanks!

You may need to remove Office 2007 as well and start over with the installation.

I know. It's annoying. We've pointed that out to Microsoft, but the page hadn't been updated.

This behavior is apparently related to the fact that you cannnot have more than one version of Outlook on your machine. Rather than remove the old version without giving you any choice in the matter, the trial setup installs Outlook 2007 only if no version of Outlook is present.

Removing the Outlook software has no effect on your data and mail profile settings.

When you install the Trial version, you have to click on "Custom" install,
then select "Outlook" and make sure it is selected to install. If you have
an old version of Outlook on your machine, it will have a red "X" on it, as
it you apparently cannot have more than one version of Outlook on your
machine at any one time. You need to select the option to uninstall the old
version as part of the install. Check out all the tabs along the top of the
window to make sure you have covered all the options for the install. If
Outlook has a red "X" on it, you can right-click on the box with the red "X"
in Outlook on the menu and it will give you the option to load Outlook with
the install. Caveat - this is just from my recollection of the install
process I just went through, as I had the same problem. If you take your
time, you'll get it. It's very frustrating!!

Good luck!

I have the same problem. Did you get an answer? Please share it with me.
This is very frustrating. I have wasted enough time trying to get the trial
version of outlook 2007...

I have a new computer and only have the trial version of Office Suite 2003.
I wanted the 2007 Trial versions but can't download Outlook. If I delete
Outlook 2003 I won't have any Outlook and then what if I still lc an't
download 2007 Outlook? Are you sure I should deletel it first then go to
the 2007 trial versions?

Outlook 2007 is already downloaded as part of Office 2007. The trial version won't install if you don't remove Outlook 2003 first. You can later reinstall Outlook 2003 if you decide to remove Outlook 2007.
