Default outlook 2000 setup server problem

I am trying to set up outlook 2000 on my laptop which was previously used at
a company where I worked and where I think they set my machine up on their
exchange server. Now on my own, in trying to set up Outlook for my POP
servers, I immediately get a message to identify the Microsoft Exchange
Server (which, of course, doesn't exist). Without this, Outlook won't
engage, and I can't set up my POP accounts. I think I need to get rid of
this automatic assumption of an exchange server, but don't know how. Anyone
have any suggestions? I am on Windows XP Home and connect through Comcast
broadband. Thanks.

Try using the mail applet in the control panel.
