Default Preventing Outlook in Office XP starting

I have Office XP and MS Outlook starts every time I turn my PC on. Can't
figure out how to stop this happening so any advice appreciated. I have
checked in msconfig but can't find anything there and it is not in my
start-up items.

Open the Startup program group. Is there an Outlook shortcut there? If so,
delete it.

Thanks Brian for the reply but Startup in "Programs" is empty. I'm guessing
there might be a registry entry but I don't know what to look for.

There are a couple. Use MSCONFIG to find them. Click StartRun, type
"msconfig" in the Open field, and click OK. Examine the Startup tab.
