Outlook 2003 generates the follwing message as ActiveSync attempts to
synchronize my Pocket PC running Windows CE 4.2. with my Outlook 2003 account on this machine. "Synchronization cannot be started becuse you are not able to log on to the network and access information. Restart your desktop computer and synchronize again. If the problem persists, contact your network administrator." I am running Win XP-Pro w/SP2 and all updates plus ActiveSync 4.2 (Build 4876) and 'restarting' has no effect. The following programs are loaded and running: wcesmgr.exe wcescomm.exe rapimgr.exe The Pocket PC shows that user authentication was accepted, but synchronization stops with the above message. The deivce uses a USB connection. There are no 3rd party firewalls installed and Windows XP Pro Firewall set to allow exceptions and lists: ActiveSync Application ActiveSync Connection Manager ActiveSync RAPI Manager ActiveSync Service I am running McAfee VirusSCan, but not their firewall software. The system has been running perfectly up to today and the only changes are possible updates to VirusScanning, but don't see how that would impact ActiveSync or Office 2003. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Ed |

Thanks to other posts by several individuals at this site: THIS PROBLEM IS
FIXED. I used the Outlook 2003 "Detect and Repair" feature and it cleared the error -- solid synchronization with my Pocket PC once again! Thanks folks for all those who take the time to help others at this site.
