I use Office2007 on a newish Toshiba tablet. I clicked a different theme
named "black" because I have wanted black text in my messages on-screen. It seems to have dumped the ribbon bar and the QAT for the older menu interface. I did not "minimize" the ribbon: the tabs do not show. Searching throughout menus and the help file turns up NO reference to going back to the default 2007 look and feel. (I still want to figure out how to require black text but I will put that off until I get the default interface back. I am using the trial code (RTM). Other Office component programs show the ribbon. Diane,
I forgot that Outlook doesn't show the Ribbon at the main screen (where my chosen panes make my daily view) I went to Word and changed back to "Blue". They call it a Scheme, not a Theme. I had seen some instances of blue text in certain Outlook situations and wanted better readability I associate with black text on screen. Thanks for replying to help! Looking forward to one of the Office2007 books hitting the shelves. I especially hope for a Business Contact Manager-specific version. Where do you need better readability? You can control the fonts/colors used
in the message list (center pane) and to a small degree in the reading pane. Navigation pane cannot be changed. Message list: Change it using custom views. Reading pane: Change it in tools, options, mail format, fonts. This usually won't override HTML - but it is great for plain text. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Author, Teach Yourself Outlook 2003 in 24 Hours Need Help with Common Tasks? http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/ Outlook 2007: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/ol2007/ Outlook Tips by email: Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Subscribe to Exchange Messaging Outlook newsletter: "Jonathan" jonathan7zerozero7(use numbers) at yahew dot usual domain wrote in message ...
