Default Office 2007 upgrade

I just upgraded to Office 2007 Ultimate and after I rebooted my machine I
tried to launch Outlook. When it comes up it said I had to download a few
Add-on's from MS site. I did what it said and it installed the Live Search
and ran into problems with the package. it finished and it told me I had to
reboot again. Now when I try and launch Outlook I get these error messages
Windows Live Local Add-in for Microsoft Office. There is a problem with this
Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not
finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. I
click OK and it brings the same message up again. I see the error one more
time and then it closes and also closes Outlook and I can't launch the
program. What do I do now?

There appears to be problems with the Windows Live Local install package. I
have tried to repair it, remove it, and reinstall it and none will let me.
I keep getting the error I posted in the previous message. Any ideas how to
get around this?

Hello Scoot,

Windows Live Local Add-in for Microsoft Office Outlook is a tool in the
Resource Kit Tools download site is not supported under any Microsoft
standard support program or service, including the partner newsgroups. You
can, however, report issues and bugs by sending e-mail to
. Microsoft will, at its sole discretion,
address issues and bugs reported in this manner, and responses are not
guaranteed.

Having said that, I would like to provide some general information for your
reference:

1. Download and install the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility, and then use
this tool to uninstall Windows Live Local Add-in for Microsoft Office:

http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...8-80E8-983A48D
5E1BD/msicuu2.exe

After you install the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility, click Start menu-
All Programs- Windows Install Clean Up.

In the list, highlight Windows Live Local Add-in for Microsoft Office entry
if it exists, and then click Remove.

2. Complete remove and reinstall Office 2007 and don't install Windows Live
Local Add-in for Microsoft Office. Windows Live Local Add-in for Microsoft
Office is just an add-in provided in the Microsoft Download Center. You
are not required to install this add-in, just an option for users if they
are interested in this tool.

You can refer to the following article to reinstall Office via Add/Remove
programs console or manually.

Error message after you remove the beta release version of a 2007 Office
suite or program and then try to install the original release version of a
2007 Office suite or program: "Setup is unable to proceed"

Hope this helps!

Regards,

Ada Pan
