In previous incarnations, Outlook would perform a send/receive up0on opening.
In my new installations here at work, we must manually force the S/R. |

If you specify a send/receive interval, Outlook will perform a Send/Receive when it starts. In Outlook, press Alt-Ctrl-S. Set the send/receive interval there.
