Default outlook 2003 startup - specify folder in navigation pane

At startup in Outlook 2000, you could specify not only what message folder
was opened, but also a folder in the navigation pane. In Outlook 2003, the
message folder can be specified but not the folder in the navigation pane.
How do I manipulate the navigation pane so that the desired folder is shown?
