Configue Outlook2003

Default Configue Outlook2003

VISTA Home Premium. Microsoft Mail works but putting the same setting into
Outlool2003 will not work. Setting up the email account, the first three
tests pass the last two "Send test message" and "Log on to pop3 server" fail.
Why should one prog work and another fail? What can I do, throw the thing out
of the window? or is there a human being somewhere in MicroBot land who can
help. Please...

I should have said Windows Mail not Microsoft Mail in previous message.

Default Configue Outlook2003

OK I have found a cause. Shutting down the McAfee services releases the power
of Outlook2003. OK now to dump McAfee.

Post the exact text of the messages and exactly when you see them.

Just add Outlook to your firewall's exception list.

Ihave had the same problem. I added Outlook to the firewall exception list
but still receive the same message.

"send test email message. Unable to send test email message. please verify
the e-mail address field."

any other suggestions

Make sure the settings you're using correspond to those given you by your
ISP.
