Default Garbled e-mail attachment from some senders

I am using MS Vista with MS Outlook 2003 on a clean installation.

I have been receiving attachments from some senders perfectly while having
problems from others. I receive the same e-mail with attachments perfectly on
my older computer (running MS XP and Outlook 2003).

I have check to ensure all of my Outlook 2003 settings on the new MS Vista
computer is the same as the older MS XP computer, but I still have problems
on the Vista computer.

The e-mail problems is some (not all) e-mails sent with PDF or DOC
attachments are included in the body or in-line with the e-mail and the
information is converted into garble. There is no paper clip showing that
there is an attachment in my Inbox.

I suspect it is a vista related setting as I can receive and read the same
e-mail on my MS XP computer perfectly and I have set everything the same in
MS Outlook 2003. Therefore, I don't believe it is a problem originating with
the sender.

This is an example of what the attachment looks like:

Content-Type: application/octet-stream;
name="RA_2007.pdf"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64
Content-Description: RA_03142007.pdf
Content-Disposition: attachment;

I have the same problem. I've posted a couple of times and haven't heard
anything back yet. Hopefully someone out there has the solution for us.

Default Garbled e-mail attachment from some senders

I ended up uninstalling MS Office 2003 and installing MS Office 2007 (trial
version) last night.

With MS Office 2007, I can receive the attachments perfectly from the
senders that I've been having problems with. So far, everything is ok with MS
Office 2007. None of the settings in MS 2007 are different from the ones in
MS 2003 (as far as I can tell). This solves my problem. I don't know if this
is an option for you.

Good luck.
