When I try to open up Outlook 2007 it tries to connect an exchange server and
tells me Outlook must be online or connected to this task. Then it brings up a dialog box to enter my mailbox domain & name and regardless what I put in there, it says that c:\documents ... \Local Files\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.ost is not a valid offline folder file. My question is how can I prevent this from automatically checking the exchange server, because I just want a POP3 mail which it isnt giving me. I have tried to uninstall office and when I reinstall it, it still automatically checks. Can someone please enlighten me on how I can prevent it from Outlook attempt to auto configure. eg. I want to enter startup screen again. Thanks, Josh |

'Control Panel|Mail|Show Profiles', click the "Add" button to create a new
profile, and do NOT add the Exchange Server service to it. After testing the new profile to make sure it works with your POP3 account, you can delete the old one.
