Default How can I authenticate my SMTP server?

"None of the authentication methods supported by this client are supported by
your server"

I have an IMAP email account for receiving mail (mail.mydomain.co.uk), and
want to send emails via a different server (smtp.btconnect.com). In previous
versions of Outlook this has been no problem, just set up the Outgoing mail
settings to log on to the server with the correct details.

However in Outlook 2007, using the exact same account settings it will not
work. Why?

Still the same process. Make sure you pressed the More Options... button and
configure the SMTP server to authentication and fill in the correct details.

Thanks for the reply Roady, however as I said I am using the exact same
settings used successfully in previous versions of Outlook, only with 2007
they do not work..!

Any other ideas?

No ideas on this then?

What a waste of money OL2007 is, it won't even send an email! Back to
OL2003...

Yes, brand new computer with XP and Office 2007 all up to date. First thing
I needed to do was get the mail set up and then hit this brick wall..!
