I'm trying to run the trial version of Outlook 2007 on a computer with XP
Professional SP2. I have uninstalled Outlook 2003 and installed trial version of Outlook 2007. When I attempt to run Outlook 2007I get a message saying Business Contact Manager has encountered a problem and needs to close. If I try again, I get a message saying Outlook failed to start correctly last time and asking if I want to start in safe mode. Clicking yes leads to the same problem, but this time I'm told Outlook failed to launch in safe mode and I'm asked if I want to start Detect and Repair. If I say yes to this, I spend a long time waiting while the message says "configuring Expression Web." At the end of that I'm told Expression Web was successfully installed. I've tried rebooting the computer, and I've tried to repair Office 2007 from Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel. Any suggestions? |

Did you had the Office 2003 version of BCM installed or did you install the
2007 version? -- Robert Sparnaaij [MVP-Outlook] Coauthor, Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 http://www.howto-outlook.com/ Outlook FAQ, HowTo, Downloads, Add-Ins and more ----- "Kaye Thomas" wrote in message ... I was previously running Office 2003 Professional with Outlook. I have now
installed Office 2007 Professional. Before installing it, I uninstalled the trial version. However, I still cannot get Outlook to open. It says "Migrating Account Settings" and then tells me it has to shut down. Open in safe mode also fails in the same way. After that I get a message asking if I want to run Detect and Repair. The first couple of times I did this, I received messages indicating it was configuring Expression Web, which I had on my computer in a trial version. I used Add or Remove programs to remove Expression Web and tried again. Same sequence, but now Detect and Repair runs Microsoft Office Diagnostics. That doesn't help, though: the diagnostics find no problems. I suspect I either have a bad registry entry or a corrupt Outlook data file. I don't have any idea how to diagnose or repair the problem, though, with Outlook unable to open. |
