Default How to automatically exclude meeting conflicts?

Hi there!
Sorry for this naive question, but I can't find a way
not to allow people write down more meetings with overlapping time windows...
It should be possible to set an option for this, under
"Resource planning", but when I click this
button a misterious error message appear like
"Operation non possible",
(sorry for possible differences in the readings:
I'm translating the texts from the Italian version...)
Please help!
