In an upgrade it either creates a new 'empty' pst (email/contacts data) or
uses your old one. It doesnt destroy your old data - though anythings possible with a PC ![]() In OL FileOpenData File...browse to any other data file, or if the origonal data file is not in the default location search for *.pst to include hidden files, then browse to that location. Once your old data file is open within OL copy the data from this to the new data/empty file - do NOT import - then close the old data file. OL2003 uses a new format data file, it is more robust than the earlier version, but it is not readable by earlier version OL "Mindy" wrote in message ink.net... upgraded from Outlook 2000 to 2003...thought it would import all my email but it didnt.....nor calander.but all my contacts came thru.....about to do my other computer and need advise on what I may have done wrong or a way to save my email......thanks all... |

Because both Import/Export, when used in conjunction with a pst *can* lead
to data loss. There is no problem using these on other format files, eg Excel, csv etc "Mindy" wrote in message ink.net... dumb question...why not use import....thank you so much for your reply.....
